In order to characterize suicide attempts among adolescents in the municipality of Santo Domingo during the period 2019-2020, a retrospective descriptive descriptive study was carried out with 46 adolescents who, according to statistical records, made an attempt and consented to participate. Information was collected through surveys and instruments validated by other authors and the percentage method was applied. Suicide attempts predominated in the female sex, and in the age group 17-19 years old, urban students were the most affected group, personal history of suicide attempts, lack of social and family support among personal risk factors, and family rejection among external factors, with a predominance of unserious attempts and the majority used the ingestion of tablets as a method, family dysfunctionality stood out in a high percentage of the population studied.
