Behavioural dentistry is an interdisciplinary science. The objective of the science is to develop in a dental practitioner an understanding of the interpersonal social force that influences a patient's behaviour. Behaviour management is widely agreed to be a key factor in the care of children and adults. Indeed, if a patients behaviour in the dental surgery/office cannot be managed then it is difficult if not impossible to carry out any dental care that is needed. Behaviour management is therefore one of the corner stones of the speciality. To counter the difficulties faced while rendering treatment to patients, one should be aware of their psychology and should know how to modify or correct theirs as well as their parent's attitudes towards dentistry. So this library work is undertaken with the aim to understand the various pharmacological and non-pharmacological behaviour management techniques, thus enabling to manage patients in a better way.
