The river basin has a complex hydrology composed of about 84% Abay/Blue and 16% White, Nile as a main tributary including other miscellaneous wetlands and lakes. To tackle the epidemics of any communicable disease Ethiopia had less than 12 regional laboratories for disease surveillance under National Public Health Institute before the pandemics of covid-19. The attitude of the regional governments of Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt must be circling on cooperation issues rather than politicizing the water gift, unless the outbreak of any pandemic may be aggravated by the socio-economic status, climatic condition and demography of the region.
