In Behind the Curtain, author Marc LeVitre, like Toto in The Wizard of Oz, pulls back the curtain to reveal the Truth as seen in mainstream movies. The films, chosen because they have impacted LeVitre on a spiritual level, contrast with those that show how not to live (The War of the Roses) with those that show how to live (It's a Wonderful Life).LeVitre, in most cases, ties films to Scripture. However, in a few instances, he relates personal experience to what is screened. For example, in The Lion King, he notes that Simba is not using his God given gifts, and LeVitre reveals how he overcame that dilemma.Like a sponge, the author has accumulated an abundance of special knowledge since he was born again in 2005. God's leading has squeezed that knowledge out of him for this book. The author reminisces about films that have impacted him from age 8 (Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory) to age 47 (The Blind Side).Since the beginning, LeVitre, a pastor's son, has been looking for the moral of the story, and by doing so, has been entertained, but more importantly, has been enlightened. LeVitre has been proud to call New Hampshire home since 1968.
