When Alice Walters was assigned to an urban alternative school, she didn't realize how many of her students were on the cusp between life and death, or how much they were going to teach her. Students taught her about trust and vulnerability, and the powerful needs for hope and connection in a fractured world. Alice's heart was broken while serving in an environment saturated with hopeliness, opening a space for her passions of writing and telling others about Jesus to take root.
