Kimberly McLean-Hunt had a varied childhood as an "overseas government brat" moving from country to country with her family and dogs. Having traveled widely and partaking in a diverse education from kindergarten to high school-which entailed learning new languages and embracing different cultures-Kimberly returned to the United States for college. She attended the University of Maryland and earned a Bachelor of Science in speech communications. Kimberly loves to travel in her RV whenever she can, exploring new states and new cuisines across the USA. Her travels are a reminder of a childhood full of adventures that stand Kimberly in good stead as a writer, providing her with an almost unlimited store of locations, experiences, and people to use in her lively and engaging stories. Kimberly values compassion and kindness as well as loyalty, integrity, and selflessness, traits that she wishes to pass on to her readers through the medium of her stories. Her current range of stories for children are largely aimed at helping them to embrace the unknown as something fun to be explored, rather than feared. Kimberly is retired and lives in Florida with her two dogs, Bella and Toshi, the stars of her first book.
