This is a story about forgiveness through personified household fixtures in a child's bedroom. The five main characters (an alarm clock, lamp, door, shower head, and dresser) enjoy a daily pattern of routine as the child begins his day, until the clock gets offended by unkind words and chooses not to ring in order to wake the child. This leads to a chaotic result as the child rushes to leave. The main characters then realize that the alarm clock is a necessary part of their morning routine and ask forgiveness. This restores the peaceful order of each day.

Autorenporträt
Becky Lanning is a children's book author, who writes for younger children in picture book formats. As an elementary teacher she learned what makes kids tick, and came to love their honest and genuine view of life. This led to her decision to write for that audience. Becky has traveled extensively, and has lived in a variety of places, including Germany, Alaska, and throughout the U.S., partly thanks to her father's Air Force background. She taught school for over 30 years, raised two children, and is now living with her husband in Northern Oregon.
