Autorenporträt
Berlie Doherty is the author of over 60 books for children and adults. When she was a girl, Berlie used to send her stories to the local newspaper, and at various times was paid in chocolates, paints, and fireworks. Berlie says, "It was wonderful to receive these presents and I thought it must always be like this for writers." Berlie has twice won the Carnegie Medal for Granny Was a Buffer Girl and Dear Nobody, and is no longer paid in fireworks. Ellie Snowdon is a children's illustrator and author from South Wales. Ellie graduated from UWE Bristol with a first in Drawing and Applied Arts before completing her MA in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art. Her first picture book, Great Bunny Bakes, was published in 2018, and she continues to collaborate with many prominent authors including Helen Peters on the Jasmine Green Rescues series; and best-selling author Laura Wood, illustrating for The Animals of Madame Malone's Music Hall.
