Helen Stephens studierte Illustration an der Glasgow School of Art. Nach 15 Jahren in London lebt sie heute mit ihrem Mann und ihrer Tochter in Northumberland, in der Nähe der Küste. Um sich dort heimisch zu fühlen, begann sie die Umgebung zu zeichnen. So finde sie Inspiration für neue Geschichten, schreibt Stephens auf ihrer Website.
