The book entitled "Benzoxazole as Antifungal" deals with the synthesis of series of benzoxazole derivatives and studies the activity against various bacteria and fungus of synthesized compounds. In the present study, a new series of 2- substituted phenyl benzoxazoles their characterization and antifungal activity. This thermal cyclization reaction is a convenient procedure for the generation of a series of the 2-substituted phenyl Benzoxazoles. Benzoxazole nucleus containing compounds were found to possess wide range of biological activities such as anticancer, antibacterial, and antiparasitic. The various compounds obtained from benzoxazole nucleus have been proved to be more active and less toxic in the chemotherapy. The synthesis of different 2-substituted phenyl benzoxazoles was carried out in single step by thermal cyclization of o-aminophenol with various benzoic acid derivatives at temperatures ranging from 2000C-2500C for 3-4 hours. The use of polyphosphoric acid as effective cyclising agent gave good yield in the preparation of 2- substituted phenyl benzoxazole derivatives. After that more derivatives (shiff bases) were prepared.
