Jay Fitzpatrick is a former Marine Assault-man with combat experience in Vietnam. His specialty was Rockets and Demolitions. After graduating from college, where he majored in architecture, Jay went on to become Vice President of Gimbles Department Store in New York City. In 1982 he started Fitzpatrick Design Group, a Retail Design Firm, and winner of dozens of major international design awards. He is also a US Patent holder. In 2004, Jay was inducted, along with such luminaries as, Raymond Loewy, into the Retail Design Institutes, Legion of Honor. He is an avid runner and has run the seven NYC Marathons since its inception in the 70's He continues with his company, Fitzpatrick International Group, to design Shopping Centers and Department Stores around the world. He lives with his wife Patricia, in New York City and Hedgehampton.
