When he completed his magic training in record time, they became angry. After Shar Santha, the adolescent daughter of a feral Dragon Chieftain, chose him they became angrier. As soon as he was chosen once again by twin hatchlings at a historic Dragon hatching, they became desperate. They tried to convince the Draconaa Council to assign him to a distant outpost station, but to no avail. When the council didn't agree to reassign him, the conspirators betrayed him.
