Autorenporträt
Nick Summerton is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, a fellow of the Faculty of Public Health and has been awarded a doctorate from the University of Oxford for original work on primary care diagnostics. In addition to working as a general practitioner since 1988 (initially single-handed and subsequently as a part-time partner), he has occupied a variety of parallel positions as a Public Health Consultant, PCT Medical Director, Clinical Lead Health Screening (BUPA & BMI), Senior Lecturer/Reader and as a Clinical Advisor to NICE, the DH, Royal Colleges, print media and various commercial organisations. He has written four books and published extensively on cancer, diagnostics, health screening, roman medicine and general practice. He regularly speaks at Pulse conferences (and has chaired the last two) - more recently he has been invited to speak to corporates and intermediaries concerning innovations and developments in health checks for individuals and employees.
