This book tackles a topic that has not yet been fully explored due to its sensitivity; the effect of religious fundamentalism on individual creativity. The relationship was tested through an ex post facto experimental design so that the causal relationship between the two concepts could be explained. A questionnaire was distributed on participants from 17 to 30 years old. Religious fundamentalism was measured using the religious fundamentalism scale. Individual creativity was measured using two methods; the need for cognition scale, and divergent thinking exercises. The data collection took place through distributing the questionnaire by the researcher and was sent online to some participants. The results of this study revealed that religious fundamentalism has a significant negative effect on both measures for individual creativity; divergent thinking and the need for cognition. These findings support the hypotheses that were built on the previous literature.
