Merilyn Packer grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, and lives there with her husband Allan. With their four children having successfully navigated their way to adulthood, Merilyn and Allan are now grandparents. After graduating from Adelaide and Flinders Universities, Merilyn worked as a clinical psychologist before travelling overseas and living in the UK for two years. Since then the family lived in northern California for several years. In addition to her long-standing column in the Christian Woman magazine, Merilyn's writing has appeared in several books from the award-winning Australian Stories series by Strand Publishing.
