It demonstrates the important place of the relationship between security and development in the remarkable transformation that Bogota has undergone during the last two decades; but it also discusses the limits of this mutation. Challenges that are evident in the difficulty to reach single-digit homicide rates, in the persistence of "violent enclaves" and the spread of violence. Popular perceptions reflect it, the persistence of practices such as "social cleansing" reveal it, the road ahead is arduous.

Antropologa presso l'Università Nazionale della Colombia, Master in Studi Politici presso la stessa università e dottoranda in Scienze Sociali presso la FLACSO-Messico, con particolare attenzione all'antropologia sociale ed esperienza nel lavoro etnografico con le comunità indigene, i contadini, i giovani e le questioni legate alla violenza urbana e alla memoria.
