There is no dearth of books on the subject. However, the present collection has been framed to include all the diverse contents found in the BG 1st and 2nd semester biotechnology syllabi prescribed by Kashmir University and Cluster University. It is an intentional attempt to cover all those diverse topics in the form of a single book. All the topics have been comprehensively demonstrated with multiple choice questions at the end of each unit. Such a pattern guides and streamlines the student's self-study. This may help the 1st and 2nd semester biotechnology students to go through an in-depth study and solidify the concepts according to the given syllabus. All such students irrespective of their economic level can efficiently understand the diverse lessons of interest, which otherwise need the consultation of many expensive books. Therefore, students can cover their syllabus without exhaustion and without losing concentration, economy and time that are necessary to neutralize the examination pressure or stress. It is my pleasure if my small effort in the form of this collection can ease the difficulties faced by young scientific minds of our nation while advancing their career.
