Bhagdari (Taluka Akkalkuwa; District: Nandurbar Maharashtra State, India) is a remote tribal village situated in the lap of Satpuda mountains. Surrounded by scenic beauty, it is home to the indigenous tribal communities that have their own distinct cultural traditions, customs, taboos and language(s)Nestled in the beautiful landscapes of Northern part of Maharashtra State, it was adopted by the then Governor of Maharastra - Shri. Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao as a part of the National Initiative where all government authorities were tasked with two villages each to adopt, nurture and develop.Owing to the fact that the Hon'ble Governor of the State also acted as the Chancellor of the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and other State Universities, a team of multidisciplinary professionals was constituted to survey the village and provide recommendations based on the ground report.Jawahar Medical Foundation's Annasaheb Chudaman Patil Memorial Dental College being the nearest institute - decided to take up the initiative and formed the heart of the team. The team carried out the survey in 2015 and successfully submitted the report in 2015 to the Governor.
