It was during this period that the Thiyagaraja Swamis in Thiruvaiyar, Muthusamy Dixit in Thiruvarur, Siyama Shastri in Thanjavur, Ponnaya, Sivanandam and Vadivelu brothers who shaped Bharatanatyam in Tanjore lived and flourished in music and dance. I have created this historical novel about Bhuvanamokini, a Kerala woman who studied drama in Tanjore against the backdrop of those golden age events. The arts like music, dance, drama and street art, which flourished in the soil of Tanjore, shine brightly in the background.
