Biswajit Jha is a journalist-turned-social entrepreneur. After completing his masters in Mass Communication, he began his career as a journalist with The Pioneer in 2005. He was the Principal Correspondent at Zee News and Sports Head of Zeenews.com, when he decided to quit his job in 2013 after working in the national media in New Delhi for almost nine years, to lead a life of happiness and fulfilment in and around his village in the northern part of West Bengal. With a guiding principal of doing something for others and upliftment of unprivileged children, he, along with his wife, Dr Sanjukta Saha, started an educational trust, which also runs a school (Epic Public School) in Cooch Behar. With unemployment hurting the educated youths in the society, he has started promoting Social Entrepreneurship as the solution to the problem. He also runs a management college in Siliguri under Epic Foundation Trust which supports younger generation in taking up Entrepreneurships to change the face of the nation. Determined to give something back to his roots and change the society through football, he took over the responsibility of running the Rajganj Welfare Football Academy for the poor children of his village, Rajganj, in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal. The academy changed the fortunes of many kids of his village. A sports buff and a fitness freak, Jha aims to promote stress-free learning with the help of games and sports. He also works as an Adjunct Professor of Media Communication at Gylpozhing College of Information & Technology (GCIT), Mongar in eastern Bhutan. He also holds a post of Joint Secretary of the Bengal chapter of KUDO Karate Association, which is promoted by Bollywood star, Akshay Kumar. Jha currently lives with his parents, father-in-law, wife and son in North Bengal.
