Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, born in Kuwait in 1955, is the founder and chairman of DP World, which manages 78 ports in 40 countries and employs over 100,000 people. His close family links with Dubai's ruling family go back generations to a time when Dubai was little more than a tiny fishing village in the Arabian Gulf. He lives in Dubai but travels extensively. For many years Ivan Fallon has been one of Britain's leading financial journalists and authors.
