Produktbeschreibung
This is Ron Davies's seventh book about the Black Country townships of Bilston, Bradley, and Ladymoor. The area has a rich industrial heritage, which forged a strong sense of community among its residents, many of whom worked in the factories, foundries, and workshops. In these tight-knit settlements, churches and chapels, sports clubs and societies grew and flourished, and the people who lived here--despite tough times and often poor living conditions--all stuck together. This collection of more than 200 old photographs will make you pause awhile and explore some of the old shops, chapels, canals, pubs, vanished industrial enterprises, workshops, and byways which are in danger of being forgotten.
