Harry Gauvin came to story writing late in life, but his imagination is as vibrant today as it was when he told stories to his four children at bedtime, and it delighted him to find that they remembered some of them right through to the present day. He has become a prolific writer of children's books and short stories, as well as a number written for an older audience. His books encourage his beloved grandchildren to enter the magic world of his imagination. The books draw on a very busy life that has included military service and the successful establishment and operation of a State-wide consulting business recognised for its innovation. The stories subconsciously reflect a sense of integrity and fair play as well as the need to care for the environment. They are also playful and good fun. Readers can immerse themselves in tales full of adventure, courage, wisdom and companionship. The set of Bingert and Friends gives life to characters created and drawn by his children.
