Bio polymers are widely used for bio implantation purposes in medical field due to its corrosion resistance, good wear properties and mechanical properties. In this book, in order to increase the life span of the implantation, coating process is applied on the PVC, TEFLON, and POLYURATHANE to form a thin film barrier. Hydroxyapatite (HAP) which is currently used as coating material, it is very expensive. This work aims at preparing new coating materials by using powders like Al2O3, egg shell and seashell powder, which are easily available and economical and to find a better suitable material to replace HAP. These coating materials are used to protect the surface of the implant material and interface with biological system. Plasma spray method is used to coat on PVC, TEFLON, and POLYURATHANE. This technique provides several advantages in the control of microstructure and the thickness of the coatings. The coated specimens are examined for the quality of coating by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The SEM images are compared with the results of HAP coated Image to draw a better conclusion.
