Ayurveda has been the most acceptable traditional medicine and has built up a sophisticated system for treating several diseases/disorders. It is evident that several medicinal plants have been used in traditional ayurvedic medicine for treatment and management of inflammation and oxidative stress. Garlic (Allium sativum L. fam. Alliaceae) is one of the most researched medicinal plants. In addition, Mucuna pruriens has also long been used in traditional Ayurvedic Indian medicine for diseases. M.pruriens and Garlic's properties result from a combination of variety biologically active substances which all together are responsible for their curative effect.
