Currently, there is much emphasis on underutilised spices and Monodra tenuifolia is one of them. Although, Monodra tenuifolia is not a conventional spice, there has been calls to investigate the nutritive potentials of the spice. There have also been skeletal reports on the neutraceutical potentials of the spice. This book attempts to contribute to the nutritive and biochemical aspects of Monodora tenuifolia research and also to further contribute to the on going research on the pharmacological potentials of the spice, where it has to do with stress management by exploring the reported antioxidant potentials. In this book, the nutritive constituents of the seeds of Monodora tenuifolia is reported and toxicity study carried out on the flavonoid rich fraction of the aqueous-alcoholic seed extract in rats administered different concentrations of the extract using standard procedures is also presented. The investigated effect of the flavonoid rich fraction on behavioural parameters and oxidative damage in rats stressed by forced swim test is also presented.
