Myocardial infarction (MI) also known as heart attack is the irreversible death (necrosis) of the heart muscle that is lack of oxygen delivery to myocardial tissues where the bloodstream diminishes or stops in the coronary corridor of the heart. Furthermore, going with the accompanying acute loss of practical myocardium is the main source of death in industrialized nations. The main goals were to investigate and evaluate the relationship between serum levels of omentin-1 and its protective role against oxidative stress in MI patients, the work also planned to explore the clinical significance of some trace elements and their relationship to oxidative stress and antioxidant levels in sera of MI patients.
