M. Annapurna estudió su postgrado en la Universidad Agrícola de Assam, Jorhat, en el Departamento de Nematología. Realizó su trabajo de investigación sobre el mecanismo de los bioagentes fúngicos en la gestión del nematodo del nudo de la raíz, Meloidogyne incognita, y ha publicado 4 artículos de investigación en revistas nacionales e internacionales.
