This book is outcome of research work for Doctor of Philosophy with a title "Biochemical studies in the pest infested mulberry varieties and their impact on sericulture". It deals with studying post infestational changes in the nutritive values of six popular indigenous mulberry varieties infested by six pests. Healthy and pest infested leaves were analysed for the photosynthetic pigments, biochemical components and inorganic constituents. Rearing performance of silkworms by feeding pest - infested mulberry leaves was evaluated. It was eye opening results to the sericulture industry by enlightening the impact of pests on the nutritional level of mulberry leaves and their adverse effect on the silkworm in turn poor quality of silk production.
