The mosquito inventory was carried out in the Tizi-Ouzou region from February 2019 to May 2023 in 45 breeding sites spread over 11 stations. Sampling was based on the collection of larvae using the Dipping method. The investigation revealed the presence of 21 species divided into two subfamilies and six genera, and enabled us to record a total number of 26,100 individuals. Mosquitoes are nematoceran diptera belonging to the Culicidae family. They are known for their harmful nature and their ability to transmit several vector-borne diseases. Cx. pipiens s.l. is the most dominant species in our study area, with 17898 individuals, followed by Cs. longiareolata with 6062 individuals. The results of this study show that the study area has two main disease vectors, the tiger mosquito Ae. albopictus and the An. maculipennis s.l. complex, which calls for a high level of public awareness of the risk of mosquito-borne diseases.
