This book is an outgrowth of journal articles by the author and the subject of his presentations at the "Electrotherapy and Electromagnetic Medicine" Seminar held for 150 attendees in November, 2003 at the Sheraton College Park in Maryland as well as an "Electromedicine Seminar" sponsored by Prof. Rustum Roy at Penn State University on August 19, 2004. There are many bioelectromagnetic (BEM) devices re-emerging in the 21st century, based on high voltage Tesla coils, that apparently bring beneficial health improvements to human organisms. The Tesla coil class of therapy devices, thanks to the great Nikola Tesla, constitute pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF) that deliver broadband, wide spectrum, nonthermal photons and electrons deep into biological tissue. Tesla himself gave a few lectures at a meeting of the American Electrotherapeutic Association around 1895 in Buffalo NY on this same topic. Electromedicine or electromagnetic medicine are the terms applied to more general developments in the ELF, RF, IR, visible or UV band of electromagnetic fields (EMFs). With short term, non-contacting, non-invasive exposures of several minutes at a time, such high voltage Tesla PEMF devices may represent the ideal, noninvasive therapy of the future, accompanied by a surprising lack of harmful side effects. A biophysical rationale for the benefits of BEM healing a wide variety of illnesses including cancer, proposes a correlation between a bioelectromagnetically restored transmembrane potential (TMP) and the antioxidant electron transport across cell membranes quenching free radicals during normal cell metabolism, resulting in a boost of energy (ATP stimulation) and immune system enhancement. Bioelectromagnetic Healing is also a unique book in that almost 200 publication references are provided to substantiate all of these particular claims and many more surprises contained in the book.
