The aim of the present research study was to review the utilization of biogas renewable energy in agricultural biogas plants, how the liquid and solid wastes should be treated, and the usage of biogas energy in industrial and landfill gas recovery plants, and the advantages and the limitations of biogas technologies. Chapter one includes general introduction to biogas energy technologies; agricultural biogas plants from the points of view of family scale biogas plants, farm scale biogas plants, and centralized co-digestion plants. In chapter two waste water and solid treatment plants were introduced and discussed thoroughly. Chapters three and four discuss respectively the importance of industrial biogas plants, and landfill gas recovery plants. Chapter five introduces and discusses the advantages and limitations of biogas technologies from the following considerations: the history of biogas production, advantages of biogas technology, and limitations of biogas technology. Chapter six is the conclusions which is the last chapter of this research study and summarizes the important points in this textbook.

Dr. Osama Mohammed Elmardi Suleiman Khayal was born in Atbara, Sudan in 1966. He received a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from Sudan University of science and technology in 1998, and a master degree in solid mechanics from Nile valley university (Atbara, Sudan) in 2003; He also received his PhD degree in mechanics of materials in 2017.
