Dr. Mary Ann Kibler (1901-2005) from very humble beginnings as an economic refugee from Italy in 1906, she made her way into the nursing profession in Warren PA. She then worked for both Doctors Charles and John Kibler at their practice in Corry PA beginning in 1926 and eventually married Dr. John Kibler in 1931. Nurse Mary continued the practice until 1951 when Dr. John Kibler died. She then decided to become a medical doctor. At her age and at that time this was a nearly impossible task, but she did it. After returning home, she began her practice in Corry and focused on nutrition as a way to better health. She was very much ahead of her time. Her practice recognized the over-prescription of pharmaceutical drugs and generally recommended the use of nutritional supplements with a healthy diet. When women mayors were almost unheard of, she became the Mayor of the City Corry from 1974 to 1978.
