Ha conseguito il dottorato in chimica presso l'Università di Parigi XII nel 1997, dopo aver ottenuto il Diplôme d'Études Approfondies en Systèmes Bioinorganiques presso l'Università di Parigi XI nel 1993, una licenza e una maîtrise de chimie.
