The interventions we have made on the planet in favour of greater comfort, or perhaps in the pursuit of happiness, have taken us to a stage where we urgently need to make drastic decisions. It's not possible to go back to ground zero in human development, but it is possible to realise that we need to be aware of the environment. Only then can we talk about protecting biodiversity. This is where knowledge and the dissemination of traditional thinking, or thinking that is far removed from the centres that enjoy all the comforts of civilisation, is essential.
