The present study was carried out for phytochemical investigation, diuretic and nephroprotective activity of different extracts from whole plant of Biophytum sensitivum (Linn.) DC and bark of Syzygium cumini (Linn.) Skeels. Alkaloids, carbohydrates, flavonoids, tannins and phenolic compounds were found to be present in Biophytum sensitivum and Syzygium cumini. The observed results concludes that Biophytum sensitivum and Syzygium cumini possess diuretic and nephroprotective activity.
