Abeer Amer (früher Abeer E. A. Amer) wurde in Ägypten geboren. Sie hat einen MSc. in Molkereiwissenschaft und -technologie und einen Ph.D. in Lebensmittelwissenschaft erworben. Sie forscht seit über 23 Jahren im Forschungszentrum für Landwirtschaft im Bereich Lebensmittelwissenschaft und -technologie. Viele ihrer Forschungsergebnisse wurden in Technologien umgesetzt und in der Industrie verwendet.
