Birdie is a petrel who flies over the ocean with his flock. After he tires from taking the lead, he finds he is all alone-not a bird in sight. All he sees above him is the blue sky, and below him, he sees the ocean. He decides to continue flying west. He made a few stops along the way, eventually reaching Stradbroke Island-just off the coast of Queensland. He met up with some friendly seagulls, which looked after him.
