Birmingham, Northfield is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first-past-the-post system of election. The area's most notable feature is that of the now closed MG Rover Group factory. It has long dominated the constituency and officially closed in the run up to the 2005 general election. The Labour MP Richard Burden was nonetheless returned, albeit with a reduced majority. He was re-elected, with a substantially reduced majority, in 2010.
