Plastic and polythene are environmentally unacceptable and hence, alternative ways were required to dispose these dangerous things. Current work can present the use of waste Polythene carry bags in flexible pavement. Reclaimed polythene (PE) derived from low density polythene (LDPE) carry bags from kitchen waste and plastic bottles have been used as additive in flexible pavements. Purposes of using above materials are to utilize environmentally unacceptable waste material and to develop a better material mix to resist increased traffic load and pressure resulting in cracking. In the present study, an attempt has been made to use waste plastic, LDPE (Low Density Poly Ethylene), blended using dry process. Marshal method of Bituminous Mix design was carried out by changing the modified bitumen content and subsequent tests have been performed to determine the different mix design characteristics. The waste plastic bags have been heated to 160-180oC and mixed with the aggregate. The LDPE and aggregate blended mix was combined to get the trial for dense bituminous concrete (DBC).
