Autorenporträt
Patricia Moyes (1923-2000) was a British author best known for her "Henry Tibbett" series: traditional mysteries led by an unflappable Scotland Yard detective and his equally insightful wife, Emmy. During WWII Moyes joined the Royal Air Force and became a radar operator and flight officer. She later worked for actor and director Peter Ustinov, with whom she collaborated on a film script, and then at British Vogue. In the late 1950s she began turning out mysteries and continued to do so--with occasional breaks to write about her beloved cats--for the next 40 years. In 1999 she received an Agatha Award for Lifetime Achievement.
