CRITICAL ACCLAIM FOR MELODY GROVES "Melody Groves writes about the Southwestern frontier with real authority; a scholar's grasp of history, a keen sense of the land, and a well-honed edge for action that'll get your blood boiling. Historical fiction at its best." --Johnny D. Boggs, Spur Award-Winning Author

New Mexico native Melody Groves researches Western history by "feeling" and "living" the West. She traverses deserts, digs through ghost towns, and visits with families whose roots burrow into the Southwestern past. Winner of numerous writing awards, Melody is a member of Western Writers of America, Southwest Writers, and New Mexico Press Women. She writes for Wild West, True West, and other national magazines. She has published four Colton Brothers Saga historical novels, set in 1859 southern New Mexico, Arizona, and Kansas. "She Was Sheriff," also historical fiction, is set in 1872 California. Nonfiction titles include books on rodeo, historic Southwestern bars, and Butterfield's mail route. When not writing, she plays rhythm guitar (and tambourine) with the Jammy Time Band. www.melodygroves.net
