Dickens se proslavil sériov¿ vydávanými romány, v nich dokázal spojit humor, pronikavý spole¿enský post¿eh a hluboce lidské charaktery. Jeho díla osv¿tlují problémy chudých, nedostatky institucionálních systém¿ a velké rozdíly mezi spole¿enskými vrstvami v Anglii 19. století. Dnes je Dickens oslavován nejen pro svá poutavá vypráv¿ní, ale také pro sv¿j trvalý vliv na literaturu a spole¿nost.
