Shafayat Abrar holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees in electrical engineering. He is recipient of IEEE Communications Society Heinrich Hertz Award for the Best Communications Letters for the year 2012. The areas of his research are nonlinear systems, optimization, compressed sensing, adaptive filtering, Bayesian learning, and signal processing.
