In 1965, the Peace Corps sent Riall to Senegal, where his life changed forever. He spent the next twenty years living and working overseas, in some very interesting places, where the exotic slowly turns into the everyday. He wanted to set some of this down in story form, so he created some quirky characters, wound them up, and then watched what they did. The results sometimes surprised even him.
