Dr. E.P. Whitney was a combat veteran in the South Pacific during WWII before finishing high school. After the war he completed his education, received a direct commission as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve, and was assistant comptroller for a large retail business in the corporate world. He served as a high school teacher, college professor and associate supervisor of business education for the New York State Education Department. He has authored the educational games "Playing to Win in Business" and "CEO," as well as the textbooks "Fundamentals of Financial Management" and "Introduction to Financial Management," which is coordinated with the educational game "CEO."
