One day, though, when he forgets to eat and nearly dies as a consequence, his mother reaches out to his father, a bioengineering doctor who she helped revolutionize the modeling industry. Bodhi's father, and the company that she worked so hard to flee during the previous novel, Models and Citizens, has a solution. It's controversial, and there's only one other person in the entire planet of Earth who has undergone the same: Christine Hamilton, heiress Gallatin Hamilton's extensive fortune. When Bodhi meets Christine, the two hit it off and are inseparable until she decides to fulfill her family obligation of learning to be the heiress she's supposed to be and enrolls in Fouriedon University.
