Ikpe Vitalis arbeitete in einem regionalen Verbrennungszentrum als Leiter der Laborabteilung. Derzeit ist er Dozent an der Caritas-Universität Enugu und Leiter der Abteilung für Biochemie. Er hat einen Doktortitel in Biochemie von der Universität Nigeria Nsukka, ist Mitglied der nigerianischen Gesellschaft für Biochemie und Molekularbiologie, Stipendiat des MLSCN und der FCA.
