Weight training for people with Down's Syndrome is not a common occurrence in gyms around the world. This is due to the need for a specialised trainer and the dependence on a supervisor to closely monitor all the activities that take place there. In view of the lack of studies and the almost insignificant presence of this public practising weight training, the initial purpose of this study was to identify muscle limitations and apply a methodology specifically aimed at this public, showing significant results in the body composition of these individuals when they were submitted to weight training for a period of twelve weeks.
