Bogota is one of four cities in the world with more than five million habitants and without a metro system. More than 10 proposals have been presented in over 70 years yet nothing has been constructed. Bogota's mass transport system Transmilenio is one of the most successful Bus Rapid Systems (BRT) of the world, but it does not provide enough capacity for the city. In addition the political situation regarding the mobility of Bogota is complex and the future is unclear. The Dy namic Financial Model presented in this book is a robust tool that provides decision makers with the necessary information to assess a proposal for a metro in Bogota and reach informed decisions. Future applications of the model include further iteration of the Bogota Metro and other transport schemes in Colombia and Latin America.
